How would you eliminate bag worms before they hatch this Spring?

While there are methods for treating for bagworms before they hatch, in some cases we may expect negative consequences with these types of treatments. We have found that the most appropriate and effective method in most cases is to monitor for caterpillar emergence and perform a treatment just after hatch. At this stage, the caterpillars are so small that any feeding that happens is truly negligible. We expect good control and we will not have many of the potential negative consequences of treating before emergence.

In the case of Dawn Redwoods, these early treatments may be appropriate. It is case by case and an on site evaluation would be necessary to determine the best course of action.

If you would like recommendations for a treatment plan, we can provide this for you at no cost. Please make an appointment.
