If I plant a tree where a stump has been grinded out, does that raise the possibility of honey fungus killing off my newly planted tree?
It could increase the risk. Ideally, you would replace what you could of the stump chippings and replace with fresh soil. If this could be done in the immediate vicinity of the newly planted tree, it would decrease the risk of honey fungus.
