Apple Scab

Scab is one of the most devastating diseases on ornamental crabapples and apples. If early spring weather conditions are optimum (warm and moist), hawthorn and mountain ash may also be seriously affected. Initial symptoms appear as olive-green to sooty or smudgy spots on the leaf or leaf petiole. As the infection develops, the leaves turn yellow and drop prematurely.

Tick Management

Given the likelihood of encountering ticks, it is important to know that controlling tick populations in your landscape is possible. The first step is assessing your landscape for common habitats like wooded areas, leaf litter and ornamental beds. Based on the assessment, treatments can specifically target at-risk areas.
