HortScience | Bartlett Consulting (H|BC) provides consulting services in horticulture, arboriculture and urban forestry. HortScience, Inc. was founded in 1983 and was acquired by the F. A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company in 2018. Over the years, we have helped public agencies and private owners throughout California and beyond design, plant, and manage landscapes in a scientifically sound, environmentally responsible, and socially responsive manner.

HortScience | Bartlett Consulting’s expertise ranges from single trees to urban forests, from an individual property to the broader community. We specialize in tree assessment, preservation and management, tree preservation during development, tree risk assessment and management, soil analysis, landscape plant selection, and problem diagnosis. Our work is client focused. We help our clients preserve desirable trees and reduce the risk associated with tree failure, provide written and electronic documentation of findings, and participate in the public meeting process.
