Bartlett Tree Experts Director of Safety Receives Highest Recognition in Tree Care Industry
February 24, 2020 – Stamford, Conn. – Scott Prophett, Director of Safety at Bartlett Tree Experts, recently received the Award of Merit from the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). This is the highest honor bestowed by the TCIA, given to an individual who has proven to be a leader in the industry and has positively impacted the practice of arboriculture.
The TCIA presented the award at their Winter Management Conference this past February, where they recognized Mr. Prophett for his dedication to the continued evolvement of the tree care industry over his 40-year career.
Mr. Prophett has devoted much of that career to the creation and implementation of safety and training programmes designed to improve work practices and support workers in the industry. He has been an active volunteer with the TCIA, serving on a number of the organisation’s boards and committees.
“All these years, my passion has been helping tree workers realize their full potential and helping tree companies succeed,” commented Mr. Prophett. “My real purpose is safety and training. I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
Over the course of his career, Scott has conducted more than 2000 days of development programmes and workshops on practical arboriculture, tree felling, green industry safety and more. He currently serves as Director of Safety at Bartlett Tree Experts where he oversees the Company’s international safety and training programmes. This includes management of hands-on training as well as oversight of an extensive staff of regional and local employees focused on safe tree care operations.
“Scott is a leader. He’s innovative and has great ideas,” said Alan Jones, Vice President and Division Manager at Bartlett Tree Experts. “Seeing all the contributions he has made to the industry has been pretty amazing and I feel lucky to work with him.”
