Bartlett Donates to Arborist Safety Training Institute

Bartlett Tree Experts announced a generous gift in the amount of $100,000 to the Arborist Safety Training Institute (ASTI) today, bringing the amount raised to over $1 million.

“We would like to thank Bartlett Tree Experts for their generous contribution to ASTI,” says Mark Garvin, president and CEO of the Tree Care Industry Association. “Their support will help us bring safety training to arborists who need it the most.”

“Here at Bartlett, we say ‘Safety Above All Else’ because we believe nothing is more important than the safety of our people and the properties we work on,” says Robert Bartlett Jr., Chairman and CEO of Bartlett Tree Experts. “Providing knowledge of proper safety equipment, techniques and skills must be at the heart of everything we do in our industry.”

ASTI’s mission is to bring quality, local and affordable training to working arborists by providing grants for job and safety training across the nation. Many arborists already receive informal, on-the-job safety training, but ASTI will instruct in advanced safety techniques and disciplines including: chipper operator basics, felling, rigging, electric hazards, chain saw safety, aerial lift operation and aerial rescue, and many more.

“Providing arborists with a well-rounded, advanced safety education will help reduce deaths and injuries on the jobsite,” says Mark Garvin. “Bartlett’s donation to ASTI will undoubtedly help save lives, and improve overall workforce safety in the tree care industry.”
