Bartlett Executive Honored with Award Of Merit from ISA
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (August 2013) – Greg Daniels, vice chairman and Chief Business Development Officer for Bartlett Tree Experts in Stamford, Conn., is this year’s recipient of the International Society of Arboriculture’s (ISA) Award of Merit.
The Award of Merit acknowledges Daniel’s service in advancing the principles, ideas, and practices of arboriculture. ISA President Terrence Flanagan presented the award on Sunday, August 4th in Toronto, as part of the ISA Annual Conference and Trade Show, August 3rd—7th, 2013.
“Daniels’ willingly shares his knowledge with others in arboriculture,” says Flanagan. “As a trustee of the Bartlett Tree Foundation, he believes in mentoring the next generation and offering financial support to students pursuing a career in arboriculture. Many times Daniels has allowed ISA to tap Bartlett’s pool of talented researchers for the benefit of the industry.”
Daniels worked for his father-in-law’s tree care company for several years to establish his career path before joining Bartlett Tree Experts in 1975. From his first job as a local manager to the office of president & COO of Bartlett, Daniels’ nearly forty year commitment has focused on research, education, and continuous learning.
“I believe in promoting the professional practice of arboriculture and the benefits of trees,” says Daniels. “ISA is the world leader in research and education. I am overwhelmed to be included in such a prestigious group of past winners. I consider it a great privilege to be given this award.”
Daniels is one of eleven distinguished professionals who make up the circle of winners for ISA’s Awards of Distinction. Robert Bartlett Jr., Chairman and CEO of Bartlett Tree Experts explains, “Having worked closely with recipient Greg Daniels, I know firsthand the impact he has made and how he is truly a ‘champion of tree care.’ I applaud him, and all of the honorees, for their tireless effort in research, teaching, mentoring their peers, and dedication to the best daily practices of arboriculture.”
ISA has been honoring members and industry professionals with the Awards of Distinction since 1963. Nine categories recognize candidates in such areas as research, publishing, education, and advancing the cause of the organisation. The winners are selected by a diverse group of experts in arboriculture. More than 20,000 members make up ISA’s organisation worldwide.
