Jan. 24, 2005 – St. Michaels, MD – In recognition of services they contributed to the National Arboretum in Washington D.C., four local arborists were recently awarded certificates of appreciation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Those receiving the honor were Terry Hummer, Doug Larmore, Larry Marshall and Tom Sadorf, who serve the St. Michaels area as Plant Health Care Technicians at Brady Tree Service, a Division of Bartlett Tree Experts.

Terry, Doug, Larry and Tom were four of more than 60 Bartlett employees that participated in a Day of Service this past October at the National Arboretum. Bartlett arborist crews donated time, equipment and services to complete a number of arboricultural tasks at the arboretum. Many services were performed including planting maples, fertilizing trees, pruning dead branches, cabling and root excavation.

“The National Arboretum is a beautiful site for both local residents and visitors,” said John Smithmyer, local manager of Bartlett’s St. Michaels office. “Bartlett Tree Experts is committed to supporting historic properties like this and helping to maintain their beauty. We are so pleased that the hard work of our arborists, who donated their time to participate in this project, has been recognized in the process.”
