A Technical Report from The Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories

St. Augustinegrass (Stenotaphrum secundatum) is a coarse textured, warm-season grass that forms a lush, dark green turf. The grass is well adapted to southern coastal regions because of its preference for sandy soils and warm, humid climate. St. Augustinegrass spreads by stolons; horizontal above ground shoots that produce buds and adventitious roots.
