Matthew Taber

Originally from Kansas, Matthew came to Illinois to earn his B.S. in Environmental Science from Olivet Nazarene University, graduating in 2018. His passion for plants and the natural environment led him to work in prairie restoration and then as a grower in a greenhouse. Matthew joined Bartlett in 2024 as a Plant Health Care Specialist and became an Arborist Representative in 2026.

Matthew obtained his ISA Arborist certification in 2025. He has maintained his license for commercial pesticide application since 2018. Matthew enjoys working to understand client concerns, identify potential problems, and present solutions that promote long-term health, beauty, and safety of their landscapes. He does this in the form of evidence-based recommendations & individualized care plans.

Matthew lives in Romeoville with his partner. He enjoys learning and caring for his collection of over 130 houseplants, spending time with friends and family, crafting, reading, and cooking.
