More about Mitch Haynes
Mitch started his journey into horticulture in 2015. Prior to that he served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman and training coordinator for 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines based out of Twentynine Palms, CA. After completing his commitment, Mitch decided not to return to his home state of Florida but to use his GI Bill to enroll at the University of Rhode Island, sight unseen. It was during this time that he would take a course in plant pathology. That one course changed his life forever. Mitch would go on to intern at many horticultural epicenters like Longwood Gardens and the United States National Arboretum, completed his bachelor’s in Plant Science (Environmental Horticulture) from the University of Rhode Island and master’s in Plant Science (Plant Pathology) from Clemson University and join the Bartlett team as a Plant Disease and Insect Diagnostician mid-2019. As a Consulting Advisor, he provides support to Consulting Arborists, Arborist Representatives, and clients through delivering client needs assessments and webinars, technology solutions, proposal guidance, project cost estimations, field diagnostics, institutional knowledge on available resources, and training. In his personal time, Mitch enjoys spending time with his loved ones, playing rugby, rucking, swimming, visiting museums, and geeking out on new technology.
