OPM Nest Removal

With summer upon us, the timing for spray treatment of oak processionary moth caterpillars has ended. However, managing these harmful pests does not stop now. Properties should be surveyed for any larval nests and those nests should be removed immediately. The toxic hairs of the caterpillar are still present in these nests so caution must be taken. Trained experts with appropriate protective equipment can remove nests to help prevent the spread of OPM and minimize further outbreaks on a property. Phermone trapping in later summer will also help capture males.
